How I Cleared My Skin/Acne + Skin Care Routine : Skin Origin

Tuesday, May 17, 2016

Hi guys,

I've been contemplating whether or not to share on how I cleared my skin/acne. I manage to muster up my courage and yes, here I am sharing about it. My skin isn't COMPLETELY clear right now as I still have pimple scars. THOSE PIMPLE SCARS ARE SO HARD TO GET RID OF.

I started popping pimples when I was about 16 years old (if I'm not wrong) which was actually a bit late. So I was desperately trying to cover up with makeup and it got worst. I started to have whiteheads all over my skin and when I touch it, it feels so... I don't know how to describe it, like little dots crowd around together? I guess it was because I didn't cleanse well enough.

Then slowly, acne was coming out. Slow and poisonous LOL. As I was trying to clear my acne, I tried a lot of skincare products from different brands. NONE OF IT WORKS. But there's one brand that I really like, which is Kiehl's. There's this acne product from Kiehl's which I really like! Whenever I have acne popping out, I'll put it on and it's gone! It's seriously the best thing ever. But unfortunately, it stopped working for me.

This is the Kiehl's acne product I mentioned above : (I screenshot from their website.)

So my mum suggested that I should go for facial and I went for it. My beautician recommended me to do derma roller treatment. My mum said that derma roller actually hurts your face and I was quite skeptical about it. But when I tried it, I don't feel any pain but ticklish! I thought I was the only person to feel ticklish. But according to my beautician, some people will find it pain and some people will find it ticklish.

Here's how a derma roller looks like :
It's covered with micro needles all around. What it basically does is creating small holes all over your skin while rolling and allowing serum to penetrate better. The effect of a derma roller treatment is to minimize pores and lighten acne scars.

Aside from having facial and derma roller treatment, I've been using Skin Origin products for nearly 2 years and it really did clear up my skin. I do have some pimples still, but it helps to control my skin a lot. I've been breaking out lesser ever since I used these products. But when I'm stress and on my red (if you know what I mean haha), pimples outbreak is seriously inevitable. I do go to facial about once every 2 weeks or sometimes even once a month, depending on my skin condition. Honestly, I absolutely hate going facial because of the pimple squeezing... But well, girls love to be pretty right? So must sacrifice LOL.

In the past, I don't have the habit to put my skin care every night because I was lazy. But I was determined because I want to have good skin! Since then, I force myself not to be lazy and put it every night. So now, I do have the habit to put it every night. If not, I'll feel uneasy (not even joking about that haha).

I tried finding the worst skin condition I ever had but I can't find it. I think it's probably because I didn't took a photo of it. But the one below is the 2nd worst? I guess haha.

I took it straight away after a derma roller treatment so it's very red. (I used flashlight on the before photo and no flashlight on the after photo. That explains why the before photo is bright and the after photo isn't bright. Sorry about that, but my skin is accurate to the photos.)

Here's a before and after photo of my right cheek :

Here's a before and after photo of my left cheek : (You can tell that I still do have pimples.)
I'm so sad... I have a deep scar (that line) on my left cheek :( not because of anything but I had it since young.

As you can see, it clear up quite a lot. The pimples do take a few days to heal after a derma roller treatment, it's very normal. I was honestly super shocked when I saw these photos. I took it awhile back and totally forgotten about it. I was looking back at some old photos and when I saw this, I was like "IS THIS EVEN ME?! MY SKIN?!". Because I don't remember having such skin!

Okay, let's get into my skin care routine. (Just a disclaimer: I'm not saying that you have to use these products. By all means, use what works for you. I'm just sharing mine.) I've no idea on where to get these products as I bought it from my beautician except for Dr. Young product but I'll try to find on where to get it. I'll list the price and link of the product below the photos. (Price listed here is the price I bought from my beautician.)
